LUISS Business School in Rome
Villa Blanc was built in eclectic style in the late 19th century and, along with six smaller buildings and a number of greenhouses, is located in a 39,000 m² park of environmental and landscaping interest. Since the spring of 2017 the villa, which has been subject to monument preservation orders since 1922, houses a new campus for the LUISS Business School’s teaching activities. Careful preservation work under the supervision of architect Massimo Picciotto has restored the building complex and adapted the premises to its new educational role.
The interior designers of XOffice chose Thonet furniture to furnish the premises: in all lecture theatres the tables of the modular system A 1700 Evo are used in personalised forms, dimensions and versions. With surfaces made of oak/walnut and HPL, the tables harmonise with the sophisticated stucco elements in the lecture theatres. The custom-tailored tables in the Aula Magna can be easily assembled and disassembled, enabling a diversified use of the space. 95 tubular steel cantilever chairs model S 64 PV by Marcel Breuer offer students comfortable seating. Covered with blue fabric and oak armrests, they elegantly fit in with the colour nuances in the Aula Magna. This is how studying becomes even more enjoyable!
