The Rochus Market is located in the middle of Vienna’s third district. It has been one of the most popular and most frequented market squares in the city since 1192. Today, the Post am Rochus, a ultra-modern shopping centre, which has numerous shops and restaurants as well as a post office with seven floors of office space, is located here. The head offices of the leading Austrian logistics and postal service provider comprise a total of 22,000 m² office space with workplaces for around 1,100 employees. They are distributed to various working situations that enable flexible, activity-based work in a friendly ambience. The interior design concept developed by the architects Schenker Salvi Weber in cooperation with feld72 was custom tailored to the client’s needs. The interior design of the head offices is characterised by a high standard in design, functionality and materials – using, among others, Thonet chairs from ranges S 840 and S 55.
180 cantilever chairs model S 54 PF covered with black nappa leather were manufactured with a 30 mm upholstery at the client’s request, adding to the highest possible sitting comfort along with the one-piece seat shell. The seat of the swivel chairs S 845 DRW designed by the design trio Lepper Schmidt Sommerlade are covered with high-quality nappa leather in a pleasant white colour. These chairs also provide of an ergonomically shaped seat shell made of oak wood and enable long, fatigue-free sitting.
