ROHDE & SCHWARZ IN HANOVER

Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of information and communications technology. The site in Hanover is located in a building designed by Alfred Sasse in 1916. As part of a new interior design of the offices and the cafeteria, the company decided to use the Thonet barstool from the successful chair range 404 by Stefan Diez. The cafeteria also serves as an entrance area for the employees of the development unit and is therefore a central place in the modern office building.

Along with open-plan structures, the room also provides niches and, in these zones of retreat, plays with both views into the spaces and outward from the spaces. The Thonet barstools in black underscore the industrial character of the space and fascinated the interior designers of the planning office BBU.PROJEKT ARCHITEKTEN equally as regards aesthetics and comfort. The seat of the barstool 404 H is reminiscent of a riding saddle and flexes upon sitting down.
